As a Support Worker you will play an integral role in delivering on Westhaven’s purpose, to place our participants at the centre of everything we do. About the roleAs a Support Worker, you will work across multiple facets of Westhaven, supporting individuals living with disability. A Support Worker performs duties involving assisting participants with daily living skills, personal care, community inclusion and participation activities. Have demonstrated ability to be adaptable to changing circumstances and organisational requirements, and contribute to the needs of a rapidly expanding serviceHighly regarded criteria:Proficient computer skills including the use of Client Management Databases and Google Suite (or similar) Demonstrated understanding of managing behaviours of concern including de-escalation techniques Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed practices, human rights, and the NDIS Experience supporting individuals with a disability, complex needs, behaviours of concern and/or mental healthQualifications in Disability Services, Community Services or Individual Support Qualifications and essential requirements of the roleCurrent NSW Driver’s licence The ability to obtain and maintain a paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)The ability to obtain and maintain a National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check (NDISWC)Willingness to provide consent to be listed on the Residential Care Workers Register (RCWR)Appropriately vaccinated against Covid-19 (3 doses) and able to provide evidence Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment commencementAbout applyingPlease carefully review and answer all screening questions.
