Happy Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day we are sharing stories from employees, dedicated to the special women in their lives. Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring mothers and motherhood. It’s a day to appreciate the love, care, and sacrifices mothers make for their children.

This year I will be celebrating Mothers Day from a distance. Mum lives approximately 700 km away from us. My mum will receive a package and a video call to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day.

My Mum is strong & hard-working. She calls herself ‘the machine’. She gets stuff done, I say Mother like Daughter.

My best memories and moments with Mum are baking, making my childhood favourite ollie balls.

Best advice from Mum “don’t fight over kids, money or bills”. Mum’s best quote is “don’t fuss”.

I wish everyone a Happy Mothers Day, enjoy special memories of our loved ones in heaven. This year I will be blessed with hugs & kisses and small treats with family.

Robert will be remembering his Mum this Mother’s Day, with fond memories.

He will have a trip to the local cemetery, having a chat with some beautiful pretty flowers for his Mum. Robert’s Mum passed away a few years ago, but when Robert speaks of his Mum he does with pride. He loved his Mum dearly.

Robert shared a funny memory of his Mum. While getting ready to go out in the local community, she was doing her hair when she thought she was using a can of hairspray. Instead she used fly spray all over her hair. Opps, Robert had a little giggle while sharing.

Robert wishes everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is one of mixed emotions for me having lost my Mum a month before Mother’s Day last year.

I will be picking some roses and rosemary from my garden to put on her grave, saying a quiet prayer while reflecting on lots of wonderful memories of her.

I am very blessed to have 2 of my 6 children and 5 of my 8 grandchildren living in Dubbo and look forward to spending time with them and catching up with the others over the phone.

What’s your favourite thing about being a mum?

My favourite thing about being a Mum is having a best friend within my son. Loving, nurturing him and being able to help guide him to be a beautiful loving boy and the best version of himself, while supporting all his needs and potentials along the way.
